About this break
Tweeners, also known as the A-Frame, is a distinctive rock-bottom peak in the Mizata surf zone of El Salvador. Located between Mizata Point and the Beachbreak, Tweeners produces both left- and right-hand waves, making it fundamentally different from the longer right-hand walls of Mizata Point. The A-frame shape creates two ride options from the peak, with the left being particularly noteworthy in a country famous for its abundance of right-hand point breaks.
Tweeners performs best with more water covering the rocky bottom and comes alive on medium to high tide. On overhead swells, the wave can produce fast, powerful walls and fun barrel sections while continuing to hold its shape. South-southwest swell is ideal for the greater Mizata surf zone, although south and southwest swells also work well. With typically lighter crowds than El Salvador's more famous surf areas, Tweeners offers an excellent option for intermediate and advanced surfers looking for a quality A-frame with both lefts and rights.
