Mizata Beach Break

Mizata Beach Breaks are a series of exposed sand-bottom peaks along Playa Mizata, offering both left- and right-hand waves in a setting distinctly different from neighboring Mizata Point and Tweeners. Located west of the rock-bottom A-Frame, the beach breaks respond to the same powerful South Pacific swell but break entirely over sand, producing shifting A-frame peaks, fast walls and punchy sections along the beach. Surfline confirms the Beachbreak has a sandy bottom and favors SSW swell, while a local Mizata guide describes several A-frame peaks west of Tweeners.

When swell increases and the tide fills in, the Mizata beach breaks can become powerful, with overhead waves producing hollow sections and occasional barrels. Their exposed position also allows them to pick up swell efficiently, making them a useful alternative when other breaks along the coast are small. With multiple peaks and generally lighter crowds than El Salvador’s major surf destinations, the beach breaks provide plenty of room to find waves while exploring the greater Mizata surf zone.
