About this break

Fishermans Point is a quality left-hand reef and point break on El Salvador’s renowned Costa del Bálsamo, near the surf town of La Libertad. The exposed setup receives consistent groundswell and performs particularly well with south-southwest swell combined with north-northeast offshore winds. When conditions align, the left offers clean, well-shaped walls and longer rides over the reef, making Fishermans Point another excellent wave within one of Central America’s most concentrated surf zones.

The break’s consistency and quality make it attractive to intermediate and experienced surfers, although the lineup can become crowded when conditions are good. Rocks and rip currents are the principal hazards. Fishermans Point is also exceptionally close to several of La Libertad’s signature waves, with La Paz and El Muelle approximately 1 kilometer away and world-famous Punta Roca roughly 2 kilometers away.
