Comasagua Point

Comasagua Point is a quiet, exposed beach-and-point surf break along El Salvador's Costa del Bálsamo, offering a much less crowded alternative to the country's better-known surf destinations. The surrounding beach produces both left- and right-hand waves, while the point and varied coastline create additional opportunities when swell direction and tide align. Groundswells are more common than local windswell, with south-southwest swell providing the optimum direction and north winds creating the cleanest offshore conditions.

Unlike El Salvador's highly consistent marquee point breaks, Comasagua Point is more swell-dependent and rewards surfers who catch it under the right conditions. Its typically light crowds and relatively easy access add to its appeal, although strong rip currents are an important consideration.
